“When we look at an empty lot, we don’t see useless land, we see opportunity.”
When reading the definition of a real estate developer, what do you think of?
If you said “uptight land snatchers who are out to destroy our neighborhoods and take over our city,” you are not alone. This is how many people look at developers today, because as you know, we do buy land, and we are working towards contributing to our cities growth.
So what makes Enclave any different than all of the other “greedy land snatchers?”
Meet Our Dauntless Leaders, Ben and Austin
Ben Meland, President of Enclave Development, grew up in the construction industry. His father owned a lumber business, and he worked for one of the regions largest construction companies. He moved into the multi-million-dollar lake building industry, and soon found a niche in luxury living. What Ben didn’t have was the background in real estate.
That is when Ben was Introduced to his trusty side-kick, and Enclave’s Managing Director, Austin Morris.
Born and raised a Fargo native, Austin had an abundance of knowledge in real estate.
He grew up watching his best friend’s father operate large properties in Fargo, and naturally grew fascinated by real estate development, and the ever-changing landscape of Fargo. His dream was to become a real estate developer and work his way into property investment.
After meeting and realizing how well their backgrounds meshed, they set to work at making their dreams happen, and from there, Enclave was born.
We Prefer a Tuxedo T-Shirt over a Suit and Tie
Here at Enclave, we are just like you. We don’t find it fun to come to work in a suit and tie, holding a brief case, and demanding decisions to be made.
We enjoy what we do and it shows.
We wear jeans, we compare sock patterns, and it is never a surprise to see the guys taking a quick break to shoot some pool.
We care about our neighbors, our city, and like any true North Dakotan, about waving at everyone we pass on the street.
The Golden Rule
We are developers who care. Ben and Austin didn’t build Enclave’s foundation from a book, or from advice from other developers. Enclave was built following one rule, treat others how you would like to be treated.
“We not only develop in these cities, we live and raise our families in these cities. If we wouldn’t like to see a huge apartment complex go up in our backyard where our children play, then we assume our fellow community members wouldn’t either.”
However, Fargo is growing rapidly and there is a continued demand for housing, and we see opportunity in being the ones to provide, as well as assist in growing our beautiful city.
How do we meet in the middle to please everyone?
Compromise, compromise, compromise.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Enclave meets with those who are directly impacted by every project BEFORE going ahead with the construction. Why? Because we get it. This is your city just as much as it is ours. We want to hear your ideas and we want to make everyone happy.
In reality, we know we will not please everyone. But we will continue to do our best. Our focus is always on our target market. We listen to peoples needs, wants, and desires.
Unlike other developers, we find the need before building. We work to crunch numbers and see what people want, then we make the magic happen.
