Hopkins’ Newest Feature: Enclave Breaks Ground on Ovation

Enclave recently broke ground on Ovation, a new mixed-use community in the heart of downtown Hopkins. Estimated to be complete in the fall of 2024, this project includes 150 apartment units and over 13,000 square feet of commercial space fronting Mainstreet.

The site of a former theatre, Enclave will develop, construct and manage Ovation, adding to the company’s growing portfolio of projects in the Twin Cities metro. Since 2019, Enclave has completed 10 projects across the metro and was recently named to the Twin Cities list of largest real estate developers, securing the #10 spot.

"Ovation complements the city’s strategic growth plans by adding expanded housing options mixed with retail space in intentional locations,” said Josh Wilcox, president of development, finance & investments. “The city’s many nearby amenities, growing population and easy access to major employers are a strong match for Enclave’s talents in delivering best-in-class real estate investment assets.”

Designed in collaboration with St. Paul-based Momentum Design Group, the building will feature studio, one, and two-bedroom apartment homes. On-site amenities include:

  • fitness studio

  • underground parking

  • rooftop amenity deck

  • clubroom

  • sports simulator and more.

“We’re seeing a demand from renters to live in a space with nearby and on-site amenities,” said Donna Smith, president of property management. “Communities like Hopkins offering a walkable neighborhood, access to the metro and a strong base of existing retailers are a draw for new and current residents.”

Construction began in late March and is expected to go through fall of 2024, when the building will be turned over to Enclave’s property management division. The building will include 5,061 square feet of newly built first floor retail space fronting Mainstreet. In addition, the existing 8,163 square foot retail building will continue to operate with Thirty Bales occupying the northeast end cap.
