Enclave Closes on 622,788 Square Foot Build-to-Suit IndustrialFacility for Robinson Inc.
Enclave, a unified real estate investment firm, has partnered with Robinson Inc. to develop a 622,788-square-foot heavy manufacturing build-to-suit facility. The new building is Robinson’s first outside of Wisconsin, located in Altoona, Iowa, just ten miles northeast of Des Moines. The City of Altoona is investing $9 million for infrastructure improvements and Robinson will invest $76 million for upgrades to the building.
“We are honored to partner with Robinson as they expand their operations to a new state,” said Alex Arenkill, Senior Developer. “Our experienced development and construction team is invested in Robinson’s success. By taking a detailed approach to understanding their business needs, we will deliver a specialized manufacturing facility designed to support their long-term growth.”
The facility will provide flexible production spaces for metal bending, large format cutting, metal forming, welding, fabricating and assembly and electrical integration. This expansion gives the manufacturer close to 1.4 million square feet of manufacturing space for customized production in both Wisconsin and Iowa and will create 100 jobs for the area starting in 2027.
“Expansion outside of our home state of Wisconsin is critical to provide a dependable supply chain for our growing customer base,” said Sam Thomas, President of Robinson. “This facility will allow us to better serve our customers in the energy sector and allow us continued expansion into the energy storage market, thanks to the convenient location and the supply of skilled labor in the region.”
Construction began in December 2025, and the project is expected to be complete in Q1 2027. Valor Contracting, a strategic division of Enclave, is building the facility. Their ability to deliver state-of-the-art industrial facilities using the industry's most advanced build methods makes them a nationally recognized, award-winning builder.
